About The Canopy Shop

The Canopy Shop website is part of Bappco Ltd a company owned by Anne and Andrew Lucas who have a long history of canopies having been involved in the design and manufacture of domestic carports and patio canopies as well as commercial canopies.

The Canopy Shop website was originally set up in 2009 to sell the company’s own Homestyle patio canopy system to retail customers. The Homestyle canopy was one of the original modular canopy systems and saw large sales through a trade distributor network. The early canopies were sold in set lengths with a range of projections up to 4m. They took advantage of the technical benefits of aluminium profiles and multiwall polycarbonate and offered the customer the option of clear, opal or bronze tinted polycarbonate sheets.

Following on from the success of their domestic canopy Andrew and Anne developed a commercial canopy system which sold into two separate markets. Firstly, the canopy system was robust enough to be used in commercial settings, often with heavy footfall or movement of vehicles. For example, a number of canopies were sold to Tesco for use as van loading and parking bays. In addition the canopy was sold to schools, nurseries and academies for outdoor play areas, eating areas and parent waiting areas. The commercial canopy system allowed for a number of different styles such as free standing curved roofs, apex roofs and monopitch free standing canopies.

Conscious of the rapid growth of the internet at that time Andrew and Anne decided to focus their full attention on developing their websites and began expanding the range of products they sold. The Canopy Shop website was expanded to include Door Canopies with a range of GRP canopies and glass canopies on offer. Soon after came verandas and gazebos and finally pergolas, porticos and door surrounds.

As the market for outdoor shelters has developed Anne and Andrew have tried to keep pace with changing demand while maintaining good, reliable supply lines. Most of our suppliers have worked with us for over 10 years and all products carry a minimum 3 Year Guarantee.
